Butterflies in Nigeria : Precis octavia

?? Precis octavia is a species of butterfly native to Africa. This species has a spectacular seasonal dimorphism, that is to say two different color forms depending on the dry season and the wet season. This explains why at the beginning the two forms were classified into two distinct species. The wet season form is orange with black markings on the upperside. The dry season form is blue with a bright red stripe on the upperside. This form was photographed in Cross River National Park during the butterflies project in Nigeria.
