Where is the butterfly?

?? With its wings closed, this butterfly looks like a dead leaf. But why? This camouflage allows it to hide in the environment and in particular make itself less visible to predators. Smart, isn’t it? The upper wings of this species called Salamis cacta are colored orange with pretty bluish touches. This butterfly has been observed in the Omo Forest Reserve in Nigeria (to learn about the project and other species : www.explorecology.com).
