?? The first butterfly in the laboratory has just been born! It’s a male. In recent days we had observed ants on the caterpillars. The ants then took the caterpillar to their nest. Under ground, the caterpillar fed on the brood of ants and transformed into a chrysalis. To be tolerated in the anthill, the caterpillar exudes a sweet nutritious secretion for the ants.
