The butterfly in this photo is a Humming-bird Hawk-moth or Macroglossum stellatarum<\/em> a migratory butterfly that is found in much of Eurasia and North Africa. Here the photo was taken in Crete (Greece). This butterfly is difficult to photograph. It gathers nectar from flowers with a large proboscis in hovering flight like hummingbirds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
