Les papillons ont un r\u00f4le essentiel pour la bonne sant\u00e9 des \u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes notamment des for\u00eats menac\u00e9es par la d\u00e9forestation, le changement climatique,\u2026 En effet, les papillons pollinisent certaines plantes permettant leur reproduction. Le d\u00e9veloppement de la connaissance sur ces esp\u00e8ces est ainsi indispensable pour mettre en place des actions de conservation et de sensibilisation pour prot\u00e9ger les for\u00eats au Nigeria notamment dans le parc national de Cross River et la R\u00e9serve Foresti\u00e8re d&rsquo;Omo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"llorix-one-lite-video-container\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Etudier et prot\u00e9ger les papillons des for\u00eats au Nigeria\" width=\"730\" height=\"411\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/-plYC_apmmY?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Impact du projet<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Le projet aura un impact 1) de d\u00e9veloppement de connaissance scientifique sur les esp\u00e8ces de papillons et leurs plantes nourrici\u00e8res privil\u00e9gi\u00e9es dans des for\u00eats prot\u00e9g\u00e9es plus particuli\u00e8rement dans le parc national de Cross River et la r\u00e9serve foresti\u00e8re d&rsquo;Omo, 2) de proposer des actions de conservation de ces esp\u00e8ces et de leurs habitats dans les for\u00eats du Nigeria, et de sensibilisation du public \u00e0 leur protection, 3) d\u2019impliquer diff\u00e9rents acteurs du territoire du Nigeria et d\u2019Afrique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Origine du projet<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Suite \u00e0 la diffusion de l\u2019association Exploratory Ecology de photos d\u2019esp\u00e8ces de papillons sur un groupe facebook, Monsieur Ekpah Ojonugwa entomologiste \u00e0 la Fondation de Conservation du Nigeria a contact\u00e9 le 18 novembre 2019 cette association fran\u00e7aise de protection de la biodiversit\u00e9. La rencontre entre ces passionn\u00e9s de papillons a amen\u00e9 au constat suivant. Le Nigeria renferme une biodiversit\u00e9 exceptionnelle dans les for\u00eats dont les esp\u00e8ces de papillons. Mais nous manquons actuellement de connaissance pour prot\u00e9ger ces esp\u00e8ces. Ces \u00e9changes ont donc amen\u00e9 au d\u00e9veloppement d\u2019une collaboration franco-africaine sur un projet d\u2019\u00e9tude sur les papillons et les for\u00eats au Nigeria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">L&rsquo;\u00e9quipe du projet<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u2019\u00e9quipe principale est compos\u00e9e de :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1) Ekpah Ojonugwa, dipl\u00f4m\u00e9 d\u2019un master scientifique en entomologie appliqu\u00e9e de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Lagos, travaille pour <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncfnigeria.org\/\">Nigerian Conservation Foundation<\/a>, qui r\u00e9alisera le travail de terrain, d\u2019identification ;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2) <a href=\"http:\/\/www.explorecology.com\/index.php\/explorecology\/\">Fanny Mallard<\/a>, pr\u00e9sidente de l\u2019association Exploratory Ecology, l\u00e9pidopt\u00e9riste dipl\u00f4m\u00e9e d\u2019un doctorat en \u00e9cologie, qui apportera son appui scientifique pour les productions et la communication ;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3) <a href=\"http:\/\/www.explorecology.com\/index.php\/explorecology\/\">Sven A\u00ebl Guen<\/a>, apr\u00e8s des \u00e9tudes de DUT G\u00e9nie biologique option G\u00e9nie de l\u2019environnement, dipl\u00f4m\u00e9 bac+4 informatique, administrateur et r\u00e9seaux, responsable technique de l\u2019association Exploratory Ecology, qui apportera son expertise technique pour la partie informatique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u2019\u00e9quipe est renforc\u00e9e par les personnes de structures partenaires d\u2019Afrique qui sont un appui local, technique, scientifique et de sensibilisation : <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/fmic.gov.ng\/\">Federal Ministry of Information and Culture<\/a>,<\/li><li><a href=\"http:\/\/nigeriaparkservice.org\/\">National Park Service<\/a>,<\/li><li>les \u00e9quipes de <a href=\"http:\/\/nigeriaparkservice.org\/?p=140\">Cross River National Park<\/a> et <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/Omo-Forest-Reserve\/637617466707010\">Omo Forest Reserve<\/a>, <\/li><li>les organismes de <a href=\"https:\/\/nigeria.wcs.org\/\">Wildlife Conservation Society<\/a> ainsi que <a href=\"https:\/\/wildlifeafrica.org\/\">Wildlife for Africa Conservation Initiative<\/a>,<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/alaincoache.wixsite.com\/cereb?fbclid=IwAR3AoHCppjKoR-lNIr9AmDTeMi2gRzCnbVBr5LO81WKhL4WtzjiddvwpMsA\">Centre d&rsquo;Etudes et de Recherches Entomologiques B\u00e9ninois<\/a> &#8211; Alain Coache, entomologiste <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Des acteurs scientifiques sont sollicit\u00e9s pour la validation du protocole comme le chercheur Oskar Brattstr\u00f6m de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Cambridge, et la d\u00e9termination des esp\u00e8ces comme le chercheur Steve Collins, de l\u2019institut de recherche des papillons africains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"700\" height=\"100\" src=\"http:\/\/www.explorecology.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/logo-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2801\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.explorecology.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/logo-1.png 700w, https:\/\/www.explorecology.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/logo-1-300x43.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.explorecology.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/cropped-WACI-LOGO-2-1-2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2802\" width=\"211\" height=\"177\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.explorecology.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/cropped-WACI-LOGO-2-1-2.png 544w, https:\/\/www.explorecology.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/cropped-WACI-LOGO-2-1-2-300x252.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 211px) 100vw, 211px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Objectifs<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Ce projet appel\u00e9 ExplorCollect au Nigeria participant \u00e0 la protection des for\u00eats au Nigeria est d\u00e9clin\u00e9 en 3 objectifs :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Objectif 1 : Inventaire des esp\u00e8ces<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u2019objectif de cette recherche est d\u2019augmenter la connaissance sur l\u2019inventaire des esp\u00e8ces des papillons des for\u00eats au Nigeria. L\u2019inventaire des esp\u00e8ces permettra de recenser et de d\u00e9couvrir peut-\u00eatre de nouvelles esp\u00e8ces pr\u00e9sentes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Objectif 2 : Suivis des esp\u00e8ces<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le comptage des papillons permettra de comparer la diversit\u00e9 entre deux for\u00eats aux microclimats diff\u00e9rents, d\u2019\u00e9tablir un \u00e9tat de r\u00e9f\u00e9rence des populations dans ces sites et de suivre sur le long terme l\u2019impact du changement climatique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Objectif 3 : Action de conservation<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les plantes nectarif\u00e8res privil\u00e9gi\u00e9es par les papillons seront identifi\u00e9es. Cette connaissance aiderait les organisations dont l\u2019objectif est la conservation des esp\u00e8ces et la sensibilisation du public \u00e0 la protection de ces esp\u00e8ces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Inventaire des esp\u00e8ces dans le Parc national de Cross River<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Du 21 au 25 janvier 2020, la premier inventaire des papillons a \u00e9t\u00e9 men\u00e9 dans le Parc national de Cross River au Nigeria. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ce parc national est la plus grande zone de for\u00eat tropicale au Nig\u00e9ria. Cette zone d&rsquo;\u00e9tude a \u00e9t\u00e9 s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9e car il s&rsquo;agit d&rsquo;un haut lieu de biodiversit\u00e9 de renomm\u00e9e internationale. Selon WWF, l&rsquo;\u00e9cor\u00e9gion qui chevauche la fronti\u00e8re Cameroun-Nig\u00e9ria est particuli\u00e8rement riche en esp\u00e8ces de papillons forestiers en raison du microclimat favorable qui y r\u00e8gne. Les esp\u00e8ces collect\u00e9es ont \u00e9t\u00e9 soigneusement plac\u00e9es dans une enveloppe triangulaire. L\u2019identification a \u00e9t\u00e9 faite \u00e0 la fin de chaque journ\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019aide de l&rsquo;ouvrage des papillons d\u2019Afrique de l\u2019Ouest \u00ab\u00a0Larsen, T.B. (2005a). Butterflies of West Africa. Apollo Books, Svendborg, Denmark. 595 pp + 135 color plates\u00a0\u00bb. Au total, 35 sp\u00e9cimens de papillons ont \u00e9t\u00e9 collect\u00e9s, dont 29 esp\u00e8ces de papillons de jour et 1 papillon de nuit.
